Keen Eddie is Mark Valley's best work. All elements, stirred together, make it different from the usual, make you want to watch these episodes repeatedly: the jumpy, Guy Ritchy-style editing, the enjoyably strange London characters, Eddie's wisecracks, his partner Pippin's pseudo-suave niche and the fast, quirky dialog and accents - the narrative as much a star as the cast or the editing.
Monty: Ahh - Look at her. She's fantastic. I would become a communist for her. I just want to be her bath towel.
Eddie: I thought you had this epiphany that you're shallow, weak and powerless against your sexual urges. That you're on the road to doing something about it, that you're on the road to becoming a better man.
